The Creative Gathering
I decided to throw an intimate soiree in Dallas with some friends of mine - Jacob Clayton, Gabrielle Kirven, Topi Mandela, Cam Houston, and Jaida Brinkley. The first ever Creative Gathering is a celebration of the Black Excellence that thrives in the city of Dallas. Get a closer look at these creatives, influencers, artists, and entrepreneurs as we discussed how artistic gifts inspire and improve our communities through conversation deeply rooted in the art of networking and modern-day grandeur.
This congregation consists of 6 creatives that have each brought a unique strength to the table. Jacob, a Louisiana native, quickly immersed himself in the fashion scene following his relocation to Dallas. He has earned his spot as one of Dallas’ top menswear influencers and recently launched his Made-to-Measure suit business, “J. Scott Collection.” Gabrielle is an established influencer in the Dallas community and has a strong background being a marketing/social media specialist, including multiple partnerships with Jord Watches. Topi is a musician who has curated a following of 50,000 listeners on Spotify and is soon to make waves with his upcoming song “Mustang” produced by Eestbound, known for “Antidote” by Travis Scott, and Juicebangers (be on the lookout for an upcoming feature in Complex Magazine). Cam is a director/producer whose first short film “To a Future” earned the Audience Award and Honorable Mention at the Ypsilanti 24 Hour Film Festival. Jaida is a content creator that focuses on photography, videography, and graphic design. She uses her platform to collaborate with individuals and create visual representations with strong messages.
The creative gathering is all about the importance of celebrating accomplishments, collaborations, and future endeavors. While I sometimes find myself getting lost within my own creativity, I am proud knowing that this creativity can also bring something so beautiful and so wonderful to fruition; even the most mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby would be proud.
